Rubric Guide

Level Five

• Able to name and describe more than 5 different organisms in the desert environment.
• Can suggest reasons for at least 3 changes in the environment observed.

Level Four

• Able to name and describe 4-5 different organisms in the desert environment.
• Can suggest reasons for 2-3 changes in the environment observed.

Level Three

• Able to name 2-3 different organisms in the desert environment. Has difficulty describing the organisms.
• Can suggest 1 reason for change in the environment observed.

Level Two

• Able to name 1 or 2 different organisms in the desert environment. Cannot describe the organisms.
• Has difficulty identifying reason for changes without teacher assistance.

Level One

• Able to identify 1 or no different organisms in the desert environment.
• Can not identify reason for changes in environment.
